District Attorney's Office

Crawford County is located in the Macon Judicial Circuit which consists of Bibb, Crawford, and Peach Counties. The District Attorney for this circuit is the Honorable Howard Z. Simms. His office is located in Macon with a circuit office located in Fort Valley. There is also a prosecutor's office located in the new Crawford County Courthouse in Knoxville. Prosecutors are in this office during the two terms of superior court each year and two days each week throughout the year.

If you are a defendant in a case, which means you have been charged with a crime, your attorney must contact the district attorney's office on your behalf. 


District Attorney Howard Z. Simms

Howard Simms is a 1984 grauate of Mercer University and a 1988 gradute of the Walter F. George School of Law. He began his career as a law clerk with the district attorney's office in 1986 and was employed as assistant district attorney in 1988. Mr. Simms was elected District Attorney in 2000 and serves Bibb, Crawford, and Peach Counties.
